Residential Proxies

Residential proxies leverage IP addresses assigned to residential internet users by Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

Residential proxies leverage IP addresses assigned to residential internet users by Internet Service Providers (ISPs). They act as intermediaries between a user's device and the internet, preventing websites and online services from tracking users' online activities. Unlike datacenter and mobile proxies, residential proxies are associated with real households and devices. Based on IP rotation, residential proxies can be divided into two groups:

  1. Rotating residential proxies: Rotating residential proxies automatically change the IP address after a specified period or after every request.
  2. Static residential proxies: Static residential proxies assign clients a fixed IP address for the duration of their session.

To be categorized as a proxy service, a product must:

  • Enable the users to connect to the internet from different residential IP addresses
  • Provide a UI or API to manage users’ connections.
